This level develops basic language skills needed in the classroom and in day-to-day adult situations. It develops greater skills in listening and speaking for basic communication in the classroom, outside the classroom, and at work by concentrating on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills to function satisfactorily in most real-life situations related to immediate needs. There are expanded reading and writing skills taught, and an introduction to basic grammar. This level Students who succeed in ESL Beginner Level will be able to register for ESL Intermediate Level.
This level covers skills needed in conversations beyond survival needs. This allows students to function independently in most familiar situations and use appropriate language in routine social situations. This level also covers skills needed to function effectively in familiar and unfamiliar social situations and familiar work situations. Communication skills will be needed to discuss/interpret cultural differences and to solve problems outside the class. Students who succeed in ESL Intermediate Level will be able to register for ESL Advanced Level.
This level covers fluency and advanced communication skills. Students will be able to self-monitor effectively when using basic grammatical structure and introduction to more complex structures. U.S. cultural values and thinking patterns are introduced through discussions, debates, readings and writing. The TOEFL iBT Preparation Course is added to Advanced Level to help ESL learners develop skills and strategies necessary for successful performance on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT). This course provides training of all four language skills: reading, listening, speaking, and writing in integration as it is required for the TOEFL iBT.
After completing the program, students have an option to take ESL Advanced General Business English. The General Business English course is designed to facilitate students in acquiring business communication skills across listening, speaking, reading, and writing competencies necessary for formal and informal business transactions. The course is aimed at providing an opportunity for students to develop the English skills and cultural awareness of the world of business.
This course helps students develop the skills needed to communicate successfully on a job that requires American English with emphasis on reading strategies, analytical thinking, discussion and oral presentation. Topics integrated throughout the course include international communications, current business news, and culturally related issues.

Applicants are also required to take a written placement test and have an in-person oral interview to ensure proper placement into the program. Each student is placed at a level consistent with his/her determined oral and written language skills.
